Kalix’s POV

Elise pulled us out of the hall just as we were leaving the party to go to the private councilmen’s meeting. She was a bit messy, but she still looked like a goddess. All over her body, she could smell Caius. I made a funny face because I knew exactly what they were up to.

She looked like she was in a hurry and really needed us for something. “El, what are you up to? You look so hot in that dress, but it would be like sleeping with my sister, and Owen is my brother. That would be really strange.” As she led us into a dark room, I went on and on. She snorted at me and blushed, and I loved making her mad.

Elise flipped the light switch. “Shut up, Kalix.”

“What’s wrong with you, El?” Owen’s face was filled with worry. How protective my brother was of her made me roll my eyes. I was too, but I knew that our Queen could handle it. She didn’t need to be coddled; she needed to be helped so she could reach her full potential.
