Chapter 133. Gone Too Soon

Kalix’s POV

I woke up on my couch with my eyes closed because the sun was so bright. “What the fuck just happened?” I muttered to myself as I tried to get to my feet. Every part of my body hurt.

I looked down at my half-naked body and checked for cuts and scrapes. When my hand reached my neck, both the pain and the memory made me swear. Last night, Chris gave me a gift.

I just wanted him to understand how important we were to each other. I knew it as soon as he put me in my office and said he was going to kill me. Because we were connected, his lust was building up in those black eyes with gold swirls. I had no idea that he would lose all control and claim me like he did last night.

I looked around my broken office, which Chris had broken again, and saw a piece of paper on my liquor cart. I read the note as I poured myself a glass of whiskey.
