"El, why don't you even try? You cut through 10 Rogues at once with fire blades. "This is not the best you can do. Sia reprimanded me as I weakly called fire.
We'd been practicing for more than an hour, and all of my moves were all over the place. Between the battle the other day, the shameful breakfast with my father, and now the impending birthday that determined if I would spend the rest of my life with Finn or not was less than 24 hours away.
Finn pulled me away from the breakfast table and slammed me into a wall. Then he started yelling at me. I could tell by the way he looked at me that he also wanted to hurt me. I'd been making excuses for my parents and Finn my whole life, but now I knew the truth.
He didn't love me; he wanted me to make him King. He spoke vile words worse than even my father spoke before. All I could do was cry. How did I end up here? How could the goddess of the moon choose him to be my soul
