Chapter 61. Limits
“Don’t do it. Just give us time. You won’t have to stay here for long. I’ll come get you when Elise’s birthday is over. I’m sure my brother will get it. If Caius doesn’t get it, you’ll have to stay with me.” He arms held my body tight to his. Those eyes of his were begging me to let him win.
“If I want to stay with my group. Would you let me go?” I asked with anger in my tone. We needed to be realistic about this, about us. We didn’t work!
I knew what that meant when he couldn’t answer me. He didn’t want to leave his brother. “Okay, but we can’t accept it just yet. Just don’t turn me down. You might curse the goddess for making me for you, but I can’t think of anyone better for me.”
He moved away and sat on my bed with his head down. He was going to lose the one person who made him whole, and he didn’t know how to stop it. Seeing this powerful man look so helpless made me feel bad. I was right to hate him and be afraid of his touch. But right now, it hurt my heart
