“What do you mean?” She asked raising her chin. She hated that her voice sounded shaky and her hands frantically clutching her sides. The solemn curve of Maverick’s lips deepened, darkness dancing in his eyes.

“Should I pretend? For how long?” Her insides twisted in something unknown that couldn’t be described as relaxation but something solely disturbing.
