Chapter 48. Lady Killer
Carlos was tired as a dog, as his mother used to say when he was younger. God knows where she’d picked it up. He slipped open his wallet as he stepped into the room and kissed the picture of her he’d gotten from the Man in Black. The lights turned on as he stepped into his room, hoping to collapse on his bed, but he saw a young woman curled in it, wearing a sheer red dress.
He was immediately irritated at the intrusion. The only women who’d ever been in his room, apart from the cleaning staff, were No Name, once when she came in to discuss sudden changes to his last hit at McCarthy minutes before they had to go out for the job; then there was Dahlia, Ashley, and of course, Jasmine.
This lady did not only get into his room unannounced and unauthorized but also had the audacity to sleep on his bed. He wasted no time in pulling out his gun, first scanning the room with his eyes and listening carefully for anything he ought to be wary of. When he was sure no one else was in
