Caleb's POV

The morning light streamed through the curtains, casting a soft glow across the room. I stood in front of the mirror, adjusting my shirt and running my fingers through my hair. I’d been preparing myself mentally for this conversation since last night. 

I wasn’t sure how it would go, but I knew it needed to happen. Ashley and I couldn’t keep dancing around the tension that had built between us, the unspoken fears that had festered since the news of the pregnancy.
