Chapter 100. Three Roads
Savannah’s POV
Awkward. That’s the only word I can use to describe this dinner.
Carter sits across from me and dad sits in between us. Everyone else is chatting and eating happily, but I can barely touch my food. Occasionally, I’d steal glances at my phone, checking to see if Logan or Harlan says anything. But they don’t. It’s been radio silent ever since they left.
“—Thanks again for having me, Alpha Wilcox,” Carter’s voice pulls me out of my thoughts. “It’s really an honor to be here.”
“Of course, we’re glad to have you here, right Savannah?” Dad turns to me.
I quickly put the phone away and mutter, “Sure.”
Dad notices that I’ve been on my phone and he has that look of disapproval on his face.
“So, Savannah, how’s your first semester been?” Carter says, pulling both our attention to him.
“It’s great,” I say simply.
“It’s more than great,” Dad interjects. “She did amazing, actually. Did you know, she made the dean’s list?
