Chapter 123. Family Meeting

Savannah’s POV

Three Days Later

The sun is setting at the Black Onyx castle and I find myself standing alone on my room’s balcony. The days are flying by so fast and before I know it, my family and friends are on the plane back to Vermont.

I felt a little sad as I watched them leave earlier. My friends cried, of course, and I hugged Juju and Lexy for as long as I could. And then my dad started crying and I’ve never seen him cry, so that really shocked me. He kept saying how much he loves me and how he’s so proud of me. I felt good about that, I made my dad proud, and I told him to take care of himself. Of his health, especially.

I didn’t really shed a tear even though everyone was crying. Even after they left, I thought I’d be crying in my room or something, but I’m not. For some reason, I feel strangely fine. I feel no urge to cry or feel bad about anything. And as I’m standing here, watching the sun turn golden orange, I feel… nothing. No sadness or
