Chapter 71
Hazel’s POV
He stood towering over me, his body rigid. His hand squeezed my neck as I struggled to breathe. My stomach rolled with uneasiness as nausea crept up my chest. Black dots danced in front of my eyes. I was so overwhelmed by panic and darkness that I didn’t register the first swinging in the air and my knees buckling as I fell on the floor. Balancing on the single trembling arm, I panted for air oblivious to the chaos happening behind me. I only started feeling a familiar warmth on my back when I felt hands gripping my shoulders and pulling me against a hard chest.
My ears rang of lack of air and my vision blurred when the haze drifted, I saw warm violet eyes staring down at me and saying something. I couldn’t hear his words but I could see his lips moving furiously. His brows narrowed and worried eyes gazed down at me.
