Chapter 70. Hospital Visit

BEFORE the clock reaches ten o’clock, Lucian and Malena arrive at the nearest hospital where the doctor conducts a series of tests which later confirm that she is indeed pregnant.

The doctor advised them to have another check-up in a bigger hospital in the city and get an ultrasound to determine the age of the growing baby inside her, as their facility could only cater for basic check-ups.

"We are having a baby, and you don’t look happy?" She mumbles as they walk to the hospital corridor, her hand wrapped around his arm.

"I am happy. It’s just that everything felt surreal." He responded while giving her an assuring smile.

Out of nowhere she blurted out. "We need to get married real soon, babe. The sooner, the better."

Lucian stops dead in his tract. "Can we wait till the child is born?"

"No!" She yells. "Stop calling it 'the child', it's 'our child', our baby." She emphasizes then continued. "My parents will disown me. You know how they are."
