Chapter 6. My Patience Is Running Thin
"Our favorite menu, Daddy. There are sandwiches and chicken salad. The servants have managed to make it almost as delicious as what Mommy makes,” Emily said in her sweet voice.
"Is it true?" Kara let out a laugh.
"Yes!" Louis nodded enthusiastically. “We tested it yesterday. Now, let's hurry to the dining room, Mommy. My stomach is already growling.”
While Louis pulled Kara's hand, Emily followed, dragging Frank's hand. Susan and Philip laughed behind their backs.
Unfortunately, as they entered the dining room, their enthusiasm faded. Melanie had taken Kara's position, while Barbara had sat in Susan's chair.
“Grandma, Auntie! Why are you sitting there?”
Melanie's eyebrows pressed against her forehead. “This is my old chair.”
“And this is my new chair. I want to get closer to my brother." Barbara shrugged her shoulders, as if it were normal.
