Chapter 66. Daughter of a Criminal
Melanie tried to remove Frank's hand from her shoulder, but failed. The only thing she could do to maintain her prestige was to raise her chin.
"Are you still not aware? You are the ones who keep cornering me. I just defended myself, but you said I was acting like a victim?"
Frank sighed tiredly. "That is not what I mean. All problems can be resolved if we talk nicely, Mom."
"I have spoken nicely, but you guys don't listen!" Melanie waved her finger.
“If you want to talk nicely, then why don't you answer our questions? You just grumbled incoherently then just ran away. Or could it be ... you have indeed committed a crime? You’re acting like this to cover it up?”
Melanie's breath hitched again. She froze, as if afraid that her movements would state the truth.
“If you’re innocent, explain slowly. We'll definitely listen and Mr. Morris won't judge you," Frank persuaded, gently.
