Chapter 72. New Year's Party
"I don’t mind." Vivian shrugged. "I'm actually happy that we are friends."
While looking at Vivian, Melanie let out a faint sigh. Her eyes rolled lazily. Diana noticed that.
"Do you still think that life is a competition?" Diana raised an eyebrow.
Melanie's head straightened again. Her eyes widened.
"No, Dear," Diana patted the back of Melanie's hand. "Don’t end up like me. Don’t fall into an abyss of endless regret."
Still with knitted eyebrows, Melanie pursed her lips. Before she could protest, Diana whispered, "Stop putting yourself in the shadows of the past. Embrace your happiness."
Diana stretched out her hand, gesturing for Vivian to come closer. When Vivian arrived at her side, she grabbed her hand and forced Melanie to shake hands.
"I know the relationship between you must be awkward. But, you can try to smooth it out. Forget all the pain about Norman. I'm afraid he won't be happy there if you two are still arguing."
