His beeper beeped.....

It was time to go, this was why he wanted to set this beeper because he knew that he was going to think we forget himself.

He didn't want to think about what happened but it came and it was time to face reality, his reality now was to get to the party and make do with all this stress, maybe meet someone that he might be willing to take home with.

He might not necessarily want to go home with the person but he would like to be with someone so he could see if he could get rid of the way he was feeling about having sex with someone that wasn't Jane.

He had not thought about her as he did in the first months after he told his driver to take her home, he knew he was supposed to call her but he didn't want to give mixed signals because he knew how girls took those types of signals and started acting towards it and he didn't want that to happen.
