Chapter 34
Aria walked beside Wren as she left her with Selena. It turned out that Selena had found where her husband was, thanks to the servants, and had asked Wren to find Selena.
She smiled hopefully when she saw Selena seated outside an old cabin, waiting. Selena got on her feet before she got to her.
“I think he’s in here. Maybe Cole too. And your friend…” Selena told her. “Thank you,” She turned to Wren and dismissed her.
Wren bowed and left. Aria walked beside Selena as Wren left them, her footsteps fading into the trees. The cabin looked harmless in the early light, with old wood, slanted roof, and silence settling heavy around it. The kind of place no one would have paid attention to.
Selena reached the door first. She hesitated for only a breath, then pushed it open and held it there for Aria. “Stay close, I’ve not been here before.” She murmured.
