Vincent shouted over the crowd for the soldiers to move all the women and children safely into the underground cave. He shifted on his feet, waiting for them all to move. It was the big day, and he was both nervous and hopeful. He couldn’t wait for the time to zoom fast so it could be when they had defeated their enemy.

His eyes strayed around and fell on Nate, talking with Jason and Scott about the plans for the war. He nodded at the other alpha and mouthed his gratitude to him. Nate smiled and nodded back at him.

Vincent grinned at Jason, knowing the day wouldn’t have been possible if not for the intervention of Jason. He blinked as Silver jumped at him, wrapping her hands around his neck.

“Make sure you are safe, brother,” she cried. “Promise me you will come back alive.”

He chuckled, hugging her back. His voice was clogged with emotions as he spoke. “Go stay safely with the other women while we fight. Go to the cave.”
