Chapter 39. Dizziness

After our picnic date, Hans brought me to different shops, art exhibits, and cafes he insisted I might enjoy.

But I didn’t. Those places… It doesn’t suit me. When I came to those places with my parents before, it felt like I needed to perform.

To force a smile.

To force on responding politely even if other people were either starting to disgrace or insult me, but my parents didn’t care. They only cared about using me to their advantage.

“Serenity, are you listening?”

I blinked my eyes as I heard Hans speak. Right. I was with him. I almost forgot because there were so many things running through my mind.

“Y-Yeah,” I answered, stuttering as I looked away. “So, what is this place?”

“Ah. This is one of my favorite coffee shops,” he told me, his smile widening as his gaze lingered on the surroundings. “Just look how peaceful it was. And the scenery? Breathtaking.”
