Noella’s POV

It was already an hour past since Sara left to get Benita and Logan from the playground and I was beginning to get worried. My mind was pushing forward the possibility of Sara teaming up with Austin against me, and I knew she was not one to be fully trusted, but I tried to trust her and believe that she would not be involved in such a terrible betrayal.

I was still paving round the living with a book of my plan in hand when my phone vibrated on the table, signaling a call. I ran to it hoping it would be Sara’s call of good news, instead Austin’s name shone across the screen.

My insides knotted in fury at the thought that he might have had them, he was never going to let it slip if he did get them. I answered the call and cleared my throat of any sign of fear and vulnerability before speaking to him.

“Austin?”

“Oh hello, Noella. How are you doing?” He paused and really waited for my answer.
