Samantha's POV

Everyone's head snaps in my direction. I have their attention. "The last thing I remember is, a man and a woman. The man's name is Nicolo, I don't know who the woman is. But they couldn't smell my scent because of the cloaking spell, and then I fell asleep and I woke up to Jack's face." I stare lovingly at Jack.

He stares back at me, the way I have dreamed of for many years. I know it's all fake and in two hours, it'll all mean nothing, but it still feels great.

"Okay, so here's what I understand from this. You were taken as a distraction, or maybe to help Markus and Michael to find more time. They were using you to stall. They don't have any plans, that's why they took Samantha. Michael thought if he took your mate, you would attack and he'd get to kill you. But, you didn't go anywhere near Michael nor Markus, did you Jack? You waited.

"So while you were dancing with some mediocre strengthen wolves, you sent someone else to ge
