Chapter 10. For Now

Hanging out in Damon’s suite became my routine. He helps me with my projects. He cooks our food. In the past few days, I also saw him avoiding other women. Mama always goes somewhere and I rarely see her in the house. I know there is a problem. I can’t get that out of my mind either. I am worried. Our family is getting worst. Papa doesn’t send us anything anymore.

We’re in trouble, I know that. I feel mama’s problem with expenses but she doesn’t let me know. I sat down in front of the dresser and opened my wallet. I only have three hundred. I don’t know where I’m going to get the money for our exam payouts. Maybe I need a part-time job. I need extra money.

I am wondering why Ruru is not here. I saw her earlier in the lobby but she looked preoccupied. She is not her usual self. Does she have a problem?

“So class, make a research about the first man who discovered the longest river in Mississippi.” When the class ended I immediately wrapped up my belongings.
