Chapter 68. My Woman
Margherita rubbed her cold hands as she stepped into her room. The laughter from the living area still echoed faintly down the corridor.
When she and Ezio had come back inside, Gabriella and Dario were already fighting over what to watch next.
Rosa, unimpressed, had declared herself “too old for such nonsense” and gone to bed.
Margherita took that as her cue to escape, too.
Her laptop lay on the bed. She opened it, stared at the blank screen for a moment, then closed it again with a sigh.
“Great,” she muttered. “Another kind of torture.”
A soft knock made her flinch.
“Come in,” she said, expecting Rosa.
But it was Ezio.
She smiled faintly. “You ran away too?”
He chuckled, stepping in. “Kinda. I almost forgot something.”
He sat on the edge of the bed, close but not too close. “I got you a Netflix account. Thought you might need it.”
Margherita tilted her head. “Now that’s dangerously generous of you.”
