Two days had passed since Rico left her room, and Calla still felt guilty. He hadn’t said anything about it, not a single word, but he had been distant ever since. He barely came out of his room or office, and when he did, it was like he was somewhere else entirely.
Calla’s chest tightened every time she thought she was the reason he was that way. Her heart would start beating faster, and her stomach twisted as her guilt ate her away.
