I was packing. To go where, I had no idea. I couldn’t visit my parents. They would talk about Ian. They always did. And right now, that isn’t what I needed. I needed some peace and quiet.

I grabbed my duffle bag, and quickly ran down the stairs. Hailing the first cab that came my way, I was on my way to the airport.

“How may I help you?” The man at the tickets counter asked, his voice bored.
