The succubus looked down at the rose in her hand, its petals delicate and glistening from the morning dew, then back up at the dullahan standing a few feet away. She tilted her head, considering the rose as if weighing its worth, and raised her hand slowly, fingers curling as though she were about to crush it. But after a tense second, she relaxed her hand, letting it hover over the flower before setting it gently back down. A smile crept across her face, small at first, then widening into something more mischievous and sly.
“Okay,” she said, voice light but threaded with that trademark charm of hers, “I like this one. Yes, I was up on the roof earlier, but I wasn’t moping.
