Cerberus turned around and waited patiently, his massive three heads tilting independently as he sniffed the air, nostrils flaring. Mike crouched down and helped Yuki to her feet, steadying her with a firm grip on her elbow. She stumbled slightly, and he caught her without a second thought, brushing a few specks of dirt from her clothes. He glanced down and noticed a few tarot cards scattered nearby, the edges slightly bent from the wind. Bending, he collected them carefully, making sure not to crease the cards further, and handed them to Yuki with a small grin.
His grin widened as he looked at Cerberus, a spark of mischievousness in his eyes. He opened his mouth, ready to make a joke, but Yuki’s hand shot up and pressed against his lips, stopping him mid-word.
