Chapter 14. How Long I Can Live?
While lying on the bed, Estelle was intubated and muzzled with an oxygen mask. Her face was pale and bloodless. In such a condition, she even had difficulty in breathing, but she still tried to utter a word, “Ch... Children...”
“Don’t worry. The children are fine now. Miss. Hudson, listen to me. The doctor is preparing to do stem cell transplant for the two children, but you need to sign the informed consent before the operation. Can you sign it now?”
Estelle raised her hand slowly and nodded weakly.
Peter put the pen in her hand, squatted down, and placed the informed consent in front of her.
“Please sign your name here,” he said.
When Estelle signed the consent, sweat trickled down her forehead, and she felt faint and short of breath.
Finally, with the help of Peter, she managed to finish it.
