Chapter 14. Acting as His Girlfriend

A tap on her desk got Raven’s attention. She looked up to see Ralph standing beside her desk, staring at her with a poker face. Had she dozed off to sleep? 

“I-I’m s-sorry, sir. I’ve finished what you asked me to do,” she said in an embarrassed tone. 

“It’s 8 o’clock, Raven. Why didn’t you go home?” he asked her, still staring at her with the same expression. 

“Oh, you didn’t release me, sir. I’ll go home then,” she said, looking at her computer with confusion. When did she shut it down? How long had he been here? 

“I’ll drop you,” said Ralph with the same expression on his face. 

“Thank you, sir. That won’t be necessary. I can manage,” she said, stuffing her things into her handbag. Ralph didn’t move an inch, nor did he change his expression, but kept watching her like a hawk with a brooding expression on his face.
