Chapter 20. Moving Out

Raven packed her stuff into cartons, but even after dinner, she couldn’t inform her parents about her decision. She knew they wouldn’t welcome it, but that was her only option at the moment. Her mom had accompanied Aunt Bella to the socialite club since Raven didn’t. She praised her friend’s efforts throughout dinner, trying to convince Raven that it was the best thing for her. Raven turned a deaf ear to all her rantings, but to her surprise, her dad too supported her mom. She was glad to escape to the room and complete her packing. 

The next morning, she was up early, excited to check out her new apartment. As she sipped her coffee, her mom came into the room with her coffee. 

“Be ready by ten today. Bella’s coming over to take you to her house. She has summoned Mrs. Ellington, who conducts etiquette classes and workshops. She would teach you perfect manners to match their aristocratic lifestyle.” Raven knew she wouldn’t stay till ten o’clock and would escape
