“Sir, please put me down,” she breathed, holding onto his shoulders in case she fell. “Why are you being so stubborn? Remember, I’m not your type?”
“Can’t you forget it? Why can’t you forgive me, Carmella?” Carmella noted the pleading tone in his voice and her heart melted into a puddle.
“I will if you put me down,” she whispered, and his eyes twinkled with amusement. Yet he didn’t place her down. Jaxon stared at her face, so close to his that he could just stretch a little and kiss her.
“I will. Tell me you’ve forgiven me,” he said, his eyes drinking her in.
