"Probably a secret admirer or some psycho trying to scare her. She needs to be careful."

"What right does that person have to tell her who to see? I don’t care who it is, I’ll track them down and put a bullet in their skull!"

"And hearing that makes me think the person might be right. I mean, look at you, Vera might be better off without someone like you."

"Oh really? And she’d be better off with you? Sad news for you, pal—you’re just a neighbor. Don’t get any ideas. She’s mine now."

"You sure about that?" Nathan raised a brow.

"One thing I am sure of. If it ever becomes a possibility, I’ll make damn sure it doesn’t happen. Thanks for the info, and I hope for your sake you’re not involved… because my enemies tend to die young."

"And what if I am?" Nathan challenged.

"Then get ready to die. R.I.P in advance. Goodbye." Jack laughed at Nathan’s shocked expression and walked out.
