Chapter 257. Never Leave Me

"What don't I know about you, love? That's why you must never leave me, hmm?" Arion pulled her into a warm embrace.

Emily sobbed into Arion's broad chest. "But I'm tainted, Yon... I... I was..." she whispered, resting her forehead against his chest, unable to look him in the eye.

"Shhh," Arion soothed, gently stroking the top of her head. "Never think of yourself that way. You are far more precious, hmm?"

"I swear to protect you and our child for the rest of my life," he said softly. "I love you, my love. Please don't push me away again, hmm?"

Arion loosened his embrace, then knelt in front of Emily. He presented the bouquet of red roses he had been holding and took out a small red box. Opening it, he said, "Emily, will you spend the rest of your life with me until death do us part?"

Emily covered her mouth, overwhelmed. For the past two days, she had thought Arion had truly forgotten her and accepted her selfish decision to live their separate lives.
