Chapter 22

"I have been expecting your call all morning," Imani drawled into the phone as she rolled over on her bed.

"I wanted you to rest well before calling you. How are you feeling?" Edmond asked.

"I made a remarkable recovery, as you can see I'm up and doing after being in an accident just last night."

"Thank goodness, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to forgive myself if something worse had happened to you. How would I explain it to your parents?"

"I'm fine now, and that's all that matters, don't get yourself worried for no reason."

Edmond bit his lip as he contemplated his next question. He wondered how Imani would react to it and if she would get offended by it. He decided to take his chances because he was dying to know the truth.

"Were you able to sleep well?" Imani asked.

"George bothered me a little but I managed to get some sleep afterwards."
