Be careful.
Eros’ words rang in my head nearly every hour, and I hated the fact that he had made me worried about something insignificant at this point. While I understood his concern and hesitancy, I would’ve loved it if he had given me the benefit of the doubt.
I knew that he had been taking care of me and looking out for me at the same time, but I could handle myself. I’ve always looked out for myself, and I’ve always kept my head above water despite how timid I may look.
His major concern was about Asher, and I understood that. Despite what we had going on together, whatever we might decide to term it, I knew we both still had a long way to go.
“You haven’t touched your meal since the waiter served our plates,” Asher began, his voice breaking me out of my train of thought. “Perhaps, could there be a problem with the food? I can always get it sorted out for you.”
