Chapter 81

Keith opened his eyes as soon as he sensed the presence of someone else in the mansion. He gently removed Cassandra’s arm from his chest as he made his way to the living room. He instantly recognized who it was: it was his brother Thanatos. As well as being the god of death, he was also the god of the shadows, and he often used it to communicate whenever he wasn’t present at a place, just like he was about to do right now.

“Brother,” Keith began, walking over to the minibar to pour himself a glass of whiskey. “You should know better than to interrupt my vacation with Cassandra. Is there something I can help you with?”

“I would’ve stayed away, but I couldn’t do it any longer. There isn’t any time left, so I had to come to warn you ahead of time.” Thanatos spoke from the shadows.

“What do you mean?” The hairs on the back of Keith’s neck stood up as his warning signals went full steam.

“I heard Hera’s attack on Cassandra,” Thanatos replied.
