Chapter 184. The Doors

Prim stood atop a skyscraper, looking out over the 30th Century downtown district with a heavy gaze. Her eyes were moist despite her best efforts to hide them. Red approached the assassin and stood quietly by her side.

"Are human lives really worth nothing?" Prim muttered.

"Every life is precious, Prim. But these AI... they're creations, artificial beings. They can't truly appreciate anything that has life," Red replied softly.

Prim exhaled sharply. "Fifty-five of us came to Ohm. Now, there are only six left. It feels like even our creator thinks we're worthless, Red."

Red remained silent, knowing that Prim's pain was beyond consolation. Words alone wouldn't ease Prim's suffering, so Red stood beside her friend.

After the terrible duel between Aamon and Ice, everyone had left the Cirque and gathered on the roof of a nearby building. 

There would be no funeral for Ice; the Ingo had already taken his body. Red put a comforting hand on Prim's shoulder
