Chapter 197. Divided Paths

That night, they all rested, with a few standing guard. Their remaining forces numbered just under a thousand, with only a few Troys left, and they had two more days and nights to reach the data center.

The droids that were supposed to be returning with information hadn't returned after detecting a fork in the road about twenty kilometers ahead.

"All the droids have been destroyed by something. The last recording shows a mech force," Jonah muttered.

"We need a distraction. Besides, it might work to our advantage with the fork ahead," Prim suggested to the group.

Cotton scoffed lightly. "Or the other way around."

"We can draw the enemy's attention away from Red so she can infiltrate ahead on the other path," Prim added. "Remember, the enemy wants to destroy her."

"Red will never go for that," Jonah sighed. "She's stubborn."

"Can't Kyra do something? Give her some medicine or something to keep her safe and out of harm's way?" Cotton suggested.
