Chapter 38. The Agreement

In a split second, Kit's hands slipped from the branch she was grasping and her body slid quickly down the cliff until suddenly her waist was wrapped around a rope. Kit's body tensed and he felt extreme pain from the hanging position. Then the rope went up and someone rescued her. When she was almost at the edge of the cliff, Kit realized who was helping her.

"Aamon!" Kit squealed between relief and happiness.

She immediately threw her arms around him and burst into tears. Aamon just stood there stiffly, then gently pushed Kit's body away.

"Thank you," Kit said in a husky voice.

Aamon was surprised to see the special medallion in Kit's hand. Realizing that Aamon had noticed the medal, Kit immediately held out her hand.

"Take it. It's a token of gratitude for saving me," Kit said.

The young man shook his head. "The Metaphysics girl needs it more. Just give it to her if you want."
