Chapter 39. Inside the Hospital
The greeting startled Red as she woke up on a warm bed in an all-white room with only flat beds. Red turned her head to see a woman with wavy, chest-length red hair. She was beautiful, in the seductive sense of the word, with a sensual body and lips. Red could only stare at her, unable to say anything.
"Hello," Red replied.
"You're awake."
"Yes, I am," Red replied. "You can see for yourself. I just woke up."
"Wow, your eyes... they're pretty cool. Are you humanoid?" she asked without hesitation.
Red nodded. "Yeah. I mean just the eyes."
"You're still humanoid," she nodded.
"My friend says I'm not." Red suddenly remembered Call. "He said if even a small part of my body is metal, I'm not one of them."
"Then what did he say? Are you some kind of quarter-humanoid?"
"I don't know." Red looked confused herself.
