Book 4: Trust Me

Finn

Xandra turns abruptly north, her nose pointed at the sky. Corwyn.

The skin on the back of my neck prickles as I drop back into a shift. Matej isn’t going to cause any more trouble. He fought like hell until I wrestled him down, and then I didn’t even have to convince him to prove to everyone what Denidor had made him do.

But Corwyn is trouble. He deserves to die here, in the cinders of the fake war he created for power. One of us should kill him. Xandra, for how long he lied. Me, for how hard he made reaching my mate. Or for that damn look in his eye that made me want to kill him every time he saw it.

And he’s north. Where the only hole in our defenses is.

“This is a trap,” I tell her.

She’s not listening. She’s too busy scrambling down off Denidor’s platform, not even bothering to kill him. Judging by the furious eyes turning his way, the wolves on both sides circling the base like sharks, I don’t think we need to.
