Chapter 37. Pre-Wedding Mishap

The following afternoon, Hannah visited Lauren's office, smiling warmly as she inquired:

"Lauren, is tomorrow your wedding day?"

"Director Allen knows about this too!" Lauren remarked.

"Of course, who doesn't know about the wedding of the most beautiful woman in the city?" Hannah responded.

"Director, you jest. Even I'm not sure if my husband can afford to give me a wedding!" Lauren said, aware that this was news Caroline and Christian deliberately spread, aiming to embarrass her the next day.

"I think your husband is perfectly capable, otherwise, how could he assure you so confidently?" Hannah countered.

"I don't expect much from him, having a smooth marriage is all I wish for." Lauren replied with a lack of confidence. Despite Anderson's promise of a lavish wedding just for them, Lauren had yet to see any action from him.

"So, have you found any bridesmaids yet?" It was then that Hannah got to the main point.

"Just one, my friend Kel
