Chapter 30
The sound of the sirens covered the hospital. Kim stood by the window of a long passage as she sipped the cup of coffee in her hands. She had just finished her night shift. It was five in the morning, the sun hadn't risen yet, the clouds were midnight blue, and the moon was round and shining. Cold air blew against her makeup-free face as she stared at the view of the city from the window. It was soon summer, and she hadn't had the time to fix a wedding date. If there were a season she wanted, it'd be to be married in summer.
It was exactly one week since Miran had barged into her mother's house. Mexico was lovely, but he had left the following day after spending midnight with Miss Cortes and her Abuela. Everyone, including Ava, knew how her mother was charmed by Miran's good looks, height and more over his wealth. It was every mother's wish to hand their daughter into the hands of a lovely, charming and wealthy man, let alone a billionaire.
