Chapter 29
"Hey, Pablo," she said, smiling and looking at Abuela, wondering why he had her bag.
"Ummm, Nos conocimos en la iglesia y decidió llevarme a casa," she replied. Kim inhaled and reached out for her bag. (We met at church, and he decided to take me home)
"I didn't know you'd be in Mexico, and you said you were in—" Pablo started.
It was all awkward seeing him again for the first time, while she searched for the most relatable excuse, she scanned him properly. He had changed a bit, at least his hair style was different, his outfit had more colors. If there was something Pablo hated was bright colors.
"Kimimela?" He called, her brows raised and she looked at him.
"Yeah, I just got here... I actually, umm, came to see my mother," she replied.
