Anna drove at a high speed, the headlights illuminating the road ahead in the silent night. Her mind was flooded with anger and hurt, but a small, flickering hope still lingered within her—that Ricard would chase after her. She glanced into the rearview mirror, hoping to see his car’s headlights appearing behind her, hoping that Ricard would regret and run after her, take her hand, and apologize.

But the road behind her remained empty. There was nothing but darkness and the faint glow of streetlights. The feeling of disappointment and pain began to seep into every corner of her heart. Each passing second seemed more meaningless as no car appeared, no sign from Ricard.

Anna let out a sigh and glanced at her phone. She hoped to see a message, a call from Ricard. Maybe an apology, an explanation. But the phone’s screen remained still—no notifications, no sign that he was reaching out to her. The silence from Ricard was like a slap to Anna’s pride.
