Chapter 27. Late Night in the Mansion

The young woman was not Emma.

It was Anna.

Anna was about to step into the magnificent mansion, having mentally prepared herself for what was about to happen inside. The warm light from within the house spilled out, as if welcoming her with open arms. Suddenly, she paused when she noticed a young delivery man in a familiar green uniform approaching with a paper bag in hand. He looked slightly flustered upon seeing Anna standing right at the entrance.

She stepped closer, her eyes glancing at the bag in his hand. “Are you delivering this to Ricard?” she asked, her voice gentle yet tinged with curiosity.

The delivery man quickly nodded, seeming surprised to encounter such a beautiful woman at the mansion’s door. “Yes, that’s right. I have an order for him,” he replied, holding out the paper bag towards her to confirm.

Anna looked at the bag in his hand, her eyes shining with undisguised curiosity. “What’s inside?” she asked, her gaze still fixed on the bag
