Chapter 29. Sweet Lies
Anna tried to maintain her composure as she sat beside Ricard, even though her heart was burning with anger. She smiled gently, showing concern for him, but her eyes couldn’t stop glancing at the small wounds on his hands and knees. Those scratches couldn’t be completely hidden, even though he had tried to cover them under his white bathrobe.
Her gaze gradually sharpened, and in her mind, questions relentlessly surfaced. “What did you do? Why do you have these injuries? Are you hiding something from me that you don’t want me to know?” These thoughts gnawed at her, fueling the jealousy that burned within her like an unquenchable fire.
