Emma hurried out of the main hall, but each step felt heavy, weighed down by worry and fear. Cold sweat drenched her forehead, trickling down her face. She couldn’t believe that just moments ago, Ricard could have uncovered her biggest secret—the past she had tried so hard to keep hidden all these years.
