9:37 PM.
Still no sign of her.
The restaurant had emptied out over 30 minutes ago. Everyone else had gone. I stayed. Because she hadn’t come back.
My phone was cold from how many times I’d checked it. How many times I’d stared at her name on the screen.
No answer.
No read receipts.
No location updates.
I swiped again and pressed call. Third time in the last ten minutes. Straight to voicemail.
“Pick up, Dahlia,” I muttered, jaw clenched as I stood and paced by the glass entrance. The city outside was a blur of taillights.
The phone rang in my hand. I yanked it up to my ear the moment I saw Diego’s name.
“Tell me you found her,” I snapped. My voice was low but tight.

“No. Neither is his P.A.”
