MELISSA

I sigh as I search for an Uber again on my phone's app when I see a car pull up next to me, lightning cutting through the sky as the rain continues to fall on me.

"Melissa!" I turn my head to see Jacob inside the car, and I nod, walking faster away from him.

"Melissa, please!" he keeps calling me, but I don't turn around this time.

"Get in the car, and let's talk!"

An Uber is arriving where I am now, and when I see him get out of the car, not caring about the heavy rain, I quickly get into the Uber. I've suffered enough throughout my life, and I don't want to feel like this again. I close the car door and see Jacob looking at me through the car window.

I turn my head and feel the tears in my eyes as I watch his face through the glass.

"Are you all right?" I look ahead to see that the driver of the car is looking at me with a worried expression.

"Yes, drive and don't stop, please..." I whisper, and he nods.
