As usual, the men stepped in with goodies for Jasmine's pa. The maid which was assigned to care for him stepped out to help them offload the goods.

I marveled at how Mr. Jason still had these men fending for us even when Jasmine had fled from his house.

Perhaps, he was doing these things so that Jasmine could see him as a good man.

As soon as they were finished, they pulled out with their van.

Mom covered the curtains and turned to me, "What happened? I couldn't find you in your room this morning, where did you go?"

"To work, I went to work, I had a lot to do today."

"Where did you go, Lilian? Bury those lies."

Irene came out of her hiding, "Good morning ma'am," She greeted mom.

"A beautiful morning to you my dear."

I knew she wouldn't press on with her questions so instead, she turned to leave.

"Mom,"

"Yes?"
